best diet to lose 100 lbs

Diet to Go is a diet delivery program that prepares all their meals fresh and then flash freezes them and ships on dry ice. So the food is definitely a cut above your frozen food aisle at the supermarket. Of course, the price is a cut above too! But what you really want to know, is what does Diet to Go taste like? So here's a review.

For my first week, I decided to order a full week's worth of food with all three meals, using the low fat menu. Next time I will be trying the low carb menu to see what that tastes like. It is a bit more expensive than the low fat menu. They also have a low fat vegetarian plan, but I like my meat and poultry, so I won't be ordering that one.

Breakfast

The breakfast items on the Diet to Go low fat menu are mostly just starches like bagels, pancakes and granola. They taste okay, but they aren't anything I couldn't just buy myself at the supermarket since they require hardly any preparation. I also didn't care all that much for the egg dishes.

In future, I will skip ordering breakfast and save myself the money. I can just buy bagels. If I really want eggs, scrambled eggs take me about 5 minutes to make. Since Diet to Go lets you order just lunch and dinner, I think that is the best way to go.

Lunch and Dinner

The lunch and dinner entrees are much better. In fact, they are quite tasty! These are actually cooked dishes I wouldn't take the time to make for myself because I'm not much of a cook. Some of them are simple dishes like the Italian meatballs and Fettuccine. Others are more gourmet, such as the Lobster Ravioli. I love the curry chicken salad.

If I had one complaint about Diet to Go entrees it is that they are a bit salty. I'm not the only one who thinks so too, I've read it in some forums. I believe the meals are actually supposed to be low sodium in accordance with American Dietetic Association, but some things did taste a little salty to me, especially sauces. Still, I think this is just one of the things that can't be helped in prepared foods. Most of them are a bit salty. But you should be aware of it.

Overall though, I really like their food and I'm looking forward to trying the low carbohydrate options next as I think that may be the meal plan that I'm going to stick with for the long term. I find a lose a lot more weight by keeping my starches low.
